Creature Report!

Does anyone else watch the Disney Channel?  Specifically, Octonauts?  No, just us, ok.  Well, they're land animals who live in the sea, and they help out distressed ocean faring creatures during each episode.  After the happily ever after there's the "Creature Report", detailing the scientific, physical, social, and other characteristics of the creature they've just helped.  All that to say, I'm giving my weekly "Creature Report".

At our current rate of a pound or so a week, it'll take almost two years to lose my desired 80 lbs.  Throw adding to the Coats brood in 2014 to the mix, and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get there. Having the Curves Complete program Coach is extremely beneficial.  After yesterday's weigh-in she reminded me that this is a permanent weight loss, and it may take a little longer.  Fast plan diets are usually only successful in the short term with participants gaining most or all of their weight back at program's end.  There will be no gaining this back, especially if it takes 80 weeks to lose the 80 lbs.

Patience is not a virtue I've mastered.  I'll wait for you all to regain composure from the shock of that statement.  Done?  Ok.  Good.

Total lost to date:  6.2 lbs, 12 inches

Our church will be concluding a series entitled "Dreams" this Sunday with a guest speaker.  I encourage anyone who doesn't have a home place of worship to join us at Faith Church this Sunday 9:15 or 11:00.  During this past Sunday's message, our Pastor encouraged us to be specific with our dreams, write them down, pray for them specifically.  Let us not limit our God's ability by not asking for the specifics we desire.

These are a few of mine:

I want to lose 80 pounds.

I no longer want to be physically limited by my weight and out-of-shapeness.

I want to have adventures with my family that challenge us physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I want to run a 5K.  Homegirl has never even run a mile straight - ever.

I want to wear the same size I did circa November 2004.

I want to share my story of how God is moving in my life throughout this journey.

I want to have another baby next year.

I want to take singing lessons.

Thanks for letting me share,
Octonauts at ease until the next adventure!

  2. Haha! That's actually one of the shows I like better! If I never saw Yo Gabba Gabba again, I'd be a happy girl! I have flex hours, so I can get off at 4 some days. Let's set a day or two we go each week and I can get Cohen early from daycare and meet you there!

What they don't tell you

Was it hard? Was it runny? Was it normal? Did it smell really bad? Was there a huge mess? What it discolored? No one tells you when you're in the beginning stages of falling in love.  Nobody wants to shatter the fairytale/"The Notebook" illusion you've created in your mind.  They just don't have the gumption to confess to you that one day when your beloved calls you at work, the above may be the extent of your entire conversation.  They don't tell you that you'll feel completely normal discussing "it".  They wouldn't dream to explain how interested you could be in "it".  Nope.  These people, these ones who've paved the way before you, who've told you your whole life that "it" is not an acceptable topic of civilized conversation, they never let you in on the secret.  One day, you'll have complete dialogs about poop.  Ah, how romantic. C has had some stomach issues off and on this week. I got called to c...

Hard workin'

Is it sad to be glad to come back to work on Monday just so you can sit down in a comfortable chair while the air conditioning keeps you at a reasonable temperature?  Yes, that is sad?  Well then, I'm sad. I'll back up a little first. You didn't hear from me on Thursday - you're welcome.  I promise it was better that way.  I would either have cried or killed you with one look, it was too hard to tell. However, Thursday night was wonderful.  M and I went to parent orientation at C's new preschool and left knowing he was going to have a great year.  This will be the first time my baby has to  have a backpack, with his own snacks, and learning objectives, and, and, just pass me the tissues.  My baby is too big. Friday I was in Hville for a CPE class which was about as exciting as you're imagining it was.  We had a wonderful evening at home eating a gourmet meal and watching a family movie.  No.  That's what normal peo...

Days of Our Lifes: the Preschool addition

M had to straighten out a love triangle in the lunchroom this morning. I wish I was kidding. C took a seat next to a girl from his class to enjoy his breakfast.  Due to the table configuration, there was no chair on his other side.  Upon entering the lunchroom, CB was immediately distraught by the idea of not sitting next to C and tried to pry a chair between C and the other little girl.  When it was evident that wouldn't work, she had a meltdown.  Over my son. Seriously. M came to the rescue and repositioned C so he could sit between both girls.  What. the. crap. I can't even imagine what drama we're in for over the next 20 years.  I'm crossing my fingers for a pro-longed adolescent awkward stage and hair that sticks up in odd directions.  I'm sure I can slip a few Ben's to the Optometrist to convince him that contacts aren't an option.  Same treatment for the Orthodontist.  A few extra months in braces couldn't hurt. Y'all think I'm...
