Creature Report!

Does anyone else watch the Disney Channel?  Specifically, Octonauts?  No, just us, ok.  Well, they're land animals who live in the sea, and they help out distressed ocean faring creatures during each episode.  After the happily ever after there's the "Creature Report", detailing the scientific, physical, social, and other characteristics of the creature they've just helped.  All that to say, I'm giving my weekly "Creature Report".

At our current rate of a pound or so a week, it'll take almost two years to lose my desired 80 lbs.  Throw adding to the Coats brood in 2014 to the mix, and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get there. Having the Curves Complete program Coach is extremely beneficial.  After yesterday's weigh-in she reminded me that this is a permanent weight loss, and it may take a little longer.  Fast plan diets are usually only successful in the short term with participants gaining most or all of their weight back at program's end.  There will be no gaining this back, especially if it takes 80 weeks to lose the 80 lbs.

Patience is not a virtue I've mastered.  I'll wait for you all to regain composure from the shock of that statement.  Done?  Ok.  Good.

Total lost to date:  6.2 lbs, 12 inches

Our church will be concluding a series entitled "Dreams" this Sunday with a guest speaker.  I encourage anyone who doesn't have a home place of worship to join us at Faith Church this Sunday 9:15 or 11:00.  During this past Sunday's message, our Pastor encouraged us to be specific with our dreams, write them down, pray for them specifically.  Let us not limit our God's ability by not asking for the specifics we desire.

These are a few of mine:

I want to lose 80 pounds.

I no longer want to be physically limited by my weight and out-of-shapeness.

I want to have adventures with my family that challenge us physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I want to run a 5K.  Homegirl has never even run a mile straight - ever.

I want to wear the same size I did circa November 2004.

I want to share my story of how God is moving in my life throughout this journey.

I want to have another baby next year.

I want to take singing lessons.

Thanks for letting me share,
Octonauts at ease until the next adventure!

  2. Haha! That's actually one of the shows I like better! If I never saw Yo Gabba Gabba again, I'd be a happy girl! I have flex hours, so I can get off at 4 some days. Let's set a day or two we go each week and I can get Cohen early from daycare and meet you there!

Changes, they are a comin'

Shew wee.  That's all I can say about the last couple of weeks!  I know you all have missed me.  I too, have missed all three of you. Truthfully, I was going through a ferocious deadline at work which caused me to slack on my blogging and fit lifestyle. I'll be honest, I wasn't crazy about how my pants fit when I put them on this morning.  I went to work out yesterday, but decided to delay my weigh-in until today.  Monday's are bad enough all on their own without that scale mocking me. I want to update you all on what's been going on, but first, a little housekeeping.  You'll notice the name of the blog has been shortened to "the Journey".  I still intend to write about my journey to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, but I also wanted to use this blog as a tool to exercise my creative and writing muscles, and so I don't want to be limited to one subject.  I want to write about all my journeys, whether it be life with a toddler, re-mode...

the Panic ensues

I thought that my morning might have to be spent calling the people at Visa and telling them that I had lost my credit card.  This would have been devastating for me.  No credit card equals having to ask the man that controls the checkbook at our house for money.  This would contradict my normal policy of just buying something and having the 5-7 business days before it arrives to convince him of why I really needed those shoes.  They were ON SALE.  ON ZULILY.  THEY GO WITH EVERYTHING.  Too bad those particular shoes don't fit my feet very well and have barely been worn.  To those who would say it is despicable that I would sneak shop with my credit card, I say let me use my credit card to order you a case of Windex for that nice glass house you're living in.  Which, I could do, because Husband found my credit card in between the seats of the car.  But first, I'd have to find where he has since hidden said card. Let's start with the goo...

Did she really just say that to me?

Ok, I'll say it, I looked super cute yesterday for church.  There's not a picture, just take my word for it, I've never let you down before!  Cute boots, cute dress, jean jacket.  Cue the cameras, I'm ready for my country music video. So, I run into Wally World after church on Sunday, because apparently there is some rule in the universe that you can't go more than a certain number of days without entering the hell hole that is Wal-Mart. While I was waiting for Matt to pull around and pick me a up a car drove past, stopped, and backed up.  The girl rolled down the passenger window and asked me where I got my boots.  What?  These things, you're too kind!  They came from Dress Barn - which while I hate the name, has some really cute stuff.  She said where?  I repeated.  Where's one of those at?  I said, I think Huntsville?  Mine came from the Outlet in Foley - oh how I miss the outlets. At this point, I'm feeling pretty goo...
