Easter

Well, Easter brought some lessons.  I've not had my official weigh-in for the week, but, I put some back on.  Lesson learned - every bite counts.  Every one.  Don't lie to yourself with the one bite won't hurt B.S., especially if you lack control.  If bite one doesn't hurt, bites four and five certainly will.  It's ok, I won't give up, I won't be discouraged.  It was a lesson.

The next two weeks are going to be difficult with the tax deadline approaching.  I may not make it to work out as much as I'd like with working late, but I can control what I put in my body.  So, strict diet will be the number one goal as we head to the end of busy season.

They're bringing in Chick-fil-a biscuits Thursday.  They're trying to kill me.  I will not eat one.

Another good recipe below.

Pasta, Sausage & Bean Soup

Ingredients:
1/3 tbsp(s) oil - olive
1 oz sausage - Italian
1/3 onion(s) - medium
1/2 carrots - large
1 1/4 celery stalk(s)
3/4 garlic clove(s)
1/4 tsp(s) basil
1/4 tsp(s) rosemary
1/8 tsp(s) pepper - red (flakes)
10 oz broth / stock - chicken (reduced sodium)
3 oz tomatoes - diced with juice
3 oz beans - kidney (cooked)
1 oz macaroni - whole wheat (dry)

Let me just add that up for you.  That's a lot of food.  Like between three and four cups.  Gracious.  I quatroupled most amounts, some I went x5.  I ended up with 5 servings. I fixed my lunch for the today and tomorrow out of it and froze the rest by serving size.

This one's fairly simply.  Cook it all.  Next time I'll do the sausage, celery, garlic, onions, and carrotts in the skillet for a few minutes and then put it all in the crock-pot for about six hours.

What wasn't simple was trying to cook this and last night/tonight's dinner at the same time with Matt and Cohen home and the opening day game of the Braves on the TV.  Whilst reading back and forth between two recipes I swore it said 3oz of macaroni.  So, I used whole 14 oz. box.  WRONG.  No wonder it looked like enough to feed 3 people 5 times.  I figured this out right before eating my lunch.  I knew there was no way I could eat all of that!  I just ate around the excess noodles.

Dinner tomorrow night is chicken pasta salad.  YUM!

What they don't tell you

Was it hard? Was it runny? Was it normal? Did it smell really bad? Was there a huge mess? What it discolored? No one tells you when you're in the beginning stages of falling in love.  Nobody wants to shatter the fairytale/"The Notebook" illusion you've created in your mind.  They just don't have the gumption to confess to you that one day when your beloved calls you at work, the above may be the extent of your entire conversation.  They don't tell you that you'll feel completely normal discussing "it".  They wouldn't dream to explain how interested you could be in "it".  Nope.  These people, these ones who've paved the way before you, who've told you your whole life that "it" is not an acceptable topic of civilized conversation, they never let you in on the secret.  One day, you'll have complete dialogs about poop.  Ah, how romantic. C has had some stomach issues off and on this week. I got called to c...

#screwthescale

Well, the time is nigh!  Pre-op appointment was yesterday afternoon, surgery is next Tuesday, the 17th!  I have spent the last month inundating myself with information, FB groups, blog posts, success stories, pins for recipes, protein powder subscriptions, etc.  I am ready.  The fears are lessened as I armor myself with support and information, and I know that with prayer and the right attitude and determination, I can become the person God has designed me to be. As part of all the various support groups I have become part of, I have learned some new terminology.  Daily, actually multiple times daily, various persons within these groups will share parts of their journeys.  Almost always, these posts include their "stats".  Their HW/SW/CW/GW, being their high weight, surgery weight, current weight, and goal weight.  In that vein, I wanted to share MY stats, as a way to reinforce my beliefs and goals throughout the upcoming marathon journey. Hard workin'

Is it sad to be glad to come back to work on Monday just so you can sit down in a comfortable chair while the air conditioning keeps you at a reasonable temperature?  Yes, that is sad?  Well then, I'm sad. I'll back up a little first. You didn't hear from me on Thursday - you're welcome.  I promise it was better that way.  I would either have cried or killed you with one look, it was too hard to tell. However, Thursday night was wonderful.  M and I went to parent orientation at C's new preschool and left knowing he was going to have a great year.  This will be the first time my baby has to  have a backpack, with his own snacks, and learning objectives, and, and, just pass me the tissues.  My baby is too big. Friday I was in Hville for a CPE class which was about as exciting as you're imagining it was.  We had a wonderful evening at home eating a gourmet meal and watching a family movie.  No.  That's what normal peo...
